Few Croatian noble fortresses have left as rich a trace in literature as Okić. Its silhouette above Plešivica had already found its way into verse by the end of the 18th century, when Matija Petar Katančić celebrated the grape harvest in the valley of Molbice, and it continued to inspire the Illyrian revivalists, the Romantics, and the contemporary poets of the Okić area.
Beyond poetry, Okić has also left its mark on music — from the folk songs sung among the vineyards to the mountaineering songs composed in the 20th century. Gathered on these pages are literary and musical contributions about Okić, with details of their authors and dates of composition.
