Mira Rubinić-Komazec was born on 20 April 1958 in the village of Poljanica. She moved with her parents to Repišće, where she attended primary school. Observing her wine-growing country and its beautiful landscapes, the poem "Sused Jankić" — "Neighbour Jankić" — was born within her. The verses of this poem inspired the composer Rudolf Matz to set it for the mixed choir "Dr. Antun Radić" from Okić in 1979.
Neighbour Jankić ploughed with his oxen
and worked the vineyard the whole day long.
He watched how the vine was coming into leaf,
how the green grape slept in the sun.
And how the golden clusters laughed,
while good fortune poured itself over Jankić.
All of Okić had moved into the vineyards,
picking grapes and rejoicing in the young wine;
Jankić gathered them with gladness in his heart.
He christened the wine with godfather, uncle and cousin,
the sweet wine strengthened the soul,
and all night long there was singing and drinking.
Now that Jankić rests in the earth
the vineyard dreams its sad dreams.
Jankić is gone, he sleeps his eternal sleep,
and no longer knows how the vine comes into leaf
or how the ripe grape turns golden in the sun —
all this Jankić can know no more.
