The beauties of the Okić area — its wooded hills, its gentle slopes dotted with vineyards, beneath which the villages of Okić nestle, and above them all the white Church of St Mary at Okić, like a white dove keeping watch over them — inspired the native son Vjekoslav Smetko to express that beauty in verse, which was then set to music by Rudolf Matz, a composer deeply devoted to this region. The result is the anthem of Okić: a composition for four male voices, performed by the male choir of the Croatian peasant singing society "Dr. Antun Radić" from Okić.
Oj, oj, oj, my dear Okić!
You are encircled by little woods and green meadows,
and beneath you lies the small valley through which the Okićnica flows.
Oj, Okić hillside, how beautiful and tall you are,
Oj, you have a spring of water, dear homeland.
Our lovely hills are covered with their vines.
On the hilltop a white church looks down upon our villages.
Lovely Stankovo, Tržić and Kozlikovo;
Oh, Repišće and Orešje, where sweet cherries ripen for us.
Little Gonjeva, Beter and Purgarija.
For us there is no fairer land than this dear homeland of ours.
Our grandfathers worked it, soaked it with sweat and tears.
They gave us their toil, so that it would chafe our hands too,
They gave us their rights — and so let their glory be remembered.
Oj, oj, oj, my beloved Okić!
